Centennial Eagles couldn’t keep up with John Carroll Catholic and fell 13-3 on Wednesday.
Centennial got things started in the first inning. Christopher Torres drove in one when he tripled.
John Carroll Catholic pulled away for good with six runs in the second inning. In the second Hayden Sullivan doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run, Chase Martin singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run, Gabe Morin doubled on a 2-1 count, scoring three runs, and an error scored one run for John Carroll Catholic.
Andrew Ward led the John Carroll Catholic to victory on the pitcher’s mound. He lasted four innings, allowing two hits and two runs while striking out four. Paiten Springsteen threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Anthony Gomez took the loss for Centennial. He allowed four hits and eight runs over two innings, walking one.
Torres, Tyler Lipson, and Lance Johnson all had one hit to lead Centennial.
Kellen Brown went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead John Carroll Catholic in hits.
