Even though Centennial Eagles JV gave up three runs in the fourth inning, they still defeated Vero Beach 10-4 on Saturday. Vero Beach offense in the inning was led by Ryan Srigley and Braden Rapp, who all drove in runs.
Centennial Eagles JV secured the victory thanks to seven runs in the first inning. Brian O’Shea, Matthew Bono, Bobby Boden, Darnel Joseph, and Derek Genao each had RBIs in the big inning.
Centennial Eagles JV got on the board in the first inning when O’Shea drew a walk, scoring one run.
Jayden Tavera got the win for Centennial Eagles JV. He went two innings, allowing one run on two hits and striking out three. Michael Waldrop threw four innings in relief out of the bullpen.
John Serovich took the loss for Vero Beach. He allowed two hits and seven runs over one-third of an inning, striking out one.
Centennial Eagles JV totaled eight hits. Genao and Joseph all managed multiple hits for Centennial Eagles JV. Joseph and Genao each collected two hits to lead Centennial Eagles JV. Bono led Centennial Eagles JV with three stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with eight stolen bases.
Harry Taylor led Vero Beach with two hits in three at bats. Vero Beach stole five bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Srigley led the way with three.
